Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

Role of the Committee

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is established by Chapter 2.23 of the Snohomish Municipal Code to review and comment on:

  1. The imposition of a tax under Chapter 67.28 RCW;
  2. An increase in the rate of tax imposed under Chapter 67.28 RCW;
  3. The repeal of an exemption from a tax imposed under Chapter 67.28 RCW; or
  4. A change in the use of revenue received under Chapter 67.28 RCW.

Pursuant to RCW 67.28.1815 through 67.28.1816, or as thereinafter amended, lodging tax revenue must be used for tourism promotion, acquisition of tourism-related facilities, or operation of tourism-related facilities. Learn more about the Lodging Tax Grant Program.

Meetings

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee shall hold at least one meeting annually (as part of the City’s regular biennial budget adoption and/or amendment process) or at the call of the City Council. When a meeting is scheduled, details will be posted here.

There are no open positions at this time.

Members

The Committee membership shall include: 

  • Two members who are representatives of lodging businesses required to collect the lodging tax; and 
  • Two members who are persons involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenue received from the lodging tax.
