The City of Snohomish is currently recruiting for the following:
Design Review Board -- 1 position
Park and Recreation Board -- 1 position
Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2021. Selected appointees' terms will begin immediately upon City Council confirmation of the Mayor's appointment. Board/Commission members are volunteers serving without compensation.
Design Review Board members serve four year terms. In making appointments to the Board, the appointing authority (the Mayor) shall seek to appoint persons who are knowledgeable in matters of design and aesthetic judgment by virtue of training, education, and/or experience, who possess qualities of impartiality and broad judgment, and an ability to review two-dimensional plans. Desired qualifications for Board members include an expertise in the fields of architecture, history, building trades, landscape architecture, graphic, interior and industrial design, and/or land development.
Membership on the Design Review Board, because of the expertise required to perform the duties of the Board, shall be limited to those with an interest in the City as a result of either living, working, owning property or business, and/or belonging to one (1) of the City’s civic organizations.
Park and Recreation Board members serve three year terms. In making appointments to the Board, the appointing authority (the Mayor) shall seek to appoint persons who are knowledgeable in matters of Park and Recreation and who possess qualities of impartiality and broad judgment, and an ability to reconcile conflicting viewpoints. Desired qualifications for Board members include an expertise in the fields of parks, sports, recreation programs and environmental preservation.
Eligible applicants for the Park and Recreation Board must live within the City limits or the City's urban growth boundary.
