After several delays, the first meeting of the Midtown Planning District Task Force is now scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 28.
However, the meeting can only be on-line due to the response to the Covid-19 pandemic which is why this first meeting, originally scheduled for March 31, has been postponed until now.
The meeting will primarily focus on providing Task Force members with introductions, background information about current uses and infrastructure, orientation on the planning process that will be followed, and selection of a Task Force Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
Task Force members will also participate in a visioning exercise led by consultant Bill Trimm who has been contracted with by the City to facilitate Task Force meetings.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting by clicking on this link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81434159857 and then entering the meeting ID number of 814 3415 9857.
To just listen in you can call 253-215-8782 and when prompted enter the same ID number of 814 3415 9857. When prompted to enter a Participant Number simply push the # symbol on your telephone.
There will be an opportunity for general public comments towards the end of the meeting. However, comments may also be submitted by email or regular mail (Snohomish City Hall, Attn: Glen Pickus, P.O. Box 1589, Snohomish, WA 98291). In fact, at this early stage of the process, written comments are the preferred method for submitting comments. All written comments will be forwarded to Task Force members as they are received.
The tentative schedule for future meetings is:
- Meeting #2: Tuesday, August 25, 2020
- Meeting #3: Tuesday, September 22, 2020
- Public Open House: Tuesday, October 13, 2020
- Meeting #4: Tuesday, November 10, 2020
Due to the nature of the exercises the Task Force will be going through and because of the desire to maximize public input, future meetings will be in-person. Therefore, the above meeting dates are tentative given the uncertainty of whether the Covid-19 pandemic response will allow in-person meetings at that time. If the meetings are allowed, they will be held at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth Street, and start at 6:00 p.m.
