[ARCHIVED] City Snowplow Routes and Schedules

Snowplow Routes

City of Snohomish snowplow priority routes and schedules

If snowfall impacts City streets, the City of Snohomish will prioritize certain routes for plowing, automatically close streets on steep hills, and activate two snowplow shifts.

Automatic street closures due to snow and/or ice will apply to:

  • Union Ave between 2nd and 3rd Streets
  • 5th Street between Avenues A and B, Cedar and Maple
  • 10th Street between Cleveland and Maple Aves

Snowplow shifts will consist of two plows during the day and two operating through the night, starting Tuesday, November 29th. City staff will be closely monitoring the snow events as they pass through our region.

A few reminders as we brace for winter weather:

  • Please clear storm drains before the storm to prevent street flooding.
  • Try not to park in the on-street parking at night this will give the plows the chance to clear the snow completely from the street. When cars park in the roadway it makes the plowing very difficult.
  • If you come upon a plow truck remember to stay back as they are dispensing deicer for the rear of the trucks. A plow truck route map will be posted on the city website for reference to the first and secondary priority routes as well as road closures due to snow and ice.
  • Refer to Republic Service alerts to see if your garbage service has been impacted.
  • Check on your neighbors, especially if they have mobility challenges.
  • Pack your patience. Check out WSDOT's real-time traffic for commute times and impacts. Check out WSDOT's mountain pass and winter travel resources for additional information.

We thank you for your patience as we work through the weather.
