[ARCHIVED] Applications now being accepted for New Parks Task Force

Three local citizens are sought to assist the City in planning for the future of Snohomish parks.

Three local citizens are sought to assist the City in planning for the future of Snohomish parks. Two key issues of current concern are (1) securing stable funding for our parks, and (2) determining if the community has underserved populations in particular recreation categories.

A seven-member task force with representatives from the community, City Council, and Parks and Recreation Board will be forming early in 2014 with the goal to help Snohomish engage the community in envisioning the future of our City’s park system over the next two decades. A significant effort of the committee will be in the development of key questions to be used in public outreach and surveys of City voters.

If this is an area of interest to you, we want to hear your thoughts. There will also be other ways to participate in 2014, if participating in a committee is not your first choice.
Eligibility and Schedule: If you live and/or own property inside Snohomish City limits, you are eligible to serve on the Park Plan Task Force, which is scheduled to complete its work around next October. Committee members are to be appointed by the City Council in early 2014. Meetings are proposed to be held approximately monthly, at a mutually-convenient time agreed to by committee members.

How to Apply: Complete and mail the Application for Boards and Commissions to City of Snohomish, Attn: Ann Stanton, 116 Union Avenue Snohomish, WA 98290, or email the completed application to Stanton@snohomishwa.gov.

The application form can be found on the City’s website at: http://snohomishwa.gov/forms.aspx?FID=70 .

The form may also be obtained at Snohomish City Hall, 116 Union Avenue, or you can request an application be mailed to you by calling 360-568-3115. We look forward to hearing from you.
