[ARCHIVED] Cell Tower Balloon Test

A balloon test has been scheduled for the Verizon Wireless Cellular Facility Conditional Use Permit.

A 100-foot tall cellular monopole (cell tower) is proposed for the north side of the Boys and Girls Club at 402 Second Street. The project is currently under review by the City’s Hearing Examiner, who has required a “balloon test” to assess the potential visual impact of the structure on surrounding areas of the city. Weather permitting, the applicant will float a tethered balloon above the park to a height of 100 feet at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10. The applicant, City staff, and interested members of the community will observe and photo-document views of the balloon from various locations. Photos will be provided to the Hearing Examiner to inform his decision on the project. Additional information on the project, the balloon test, and opportunities to stay informed may be found in the September 4, 2015, edition of the City Manager’s Newsletter and at the following link: http://www.snohomishwa.gov/442/Stay-Informed
