Project Purpose
The project at Second Street and Pine Avenue involves the installation of intersection controls to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety and replace the cable system holding up the traffic signal heads with permanent infrastructure.
Project Area
Intersection of Second Street and Pine Avenue; may encompass Second Street and Maple Avenue intersection.
Project Objectives
Analyze intersection control alternatives to provide the most efficient and safe intersection design. Provide for easier truck turning movements to prevent these vehicles using non-truck routes.
Project Timeline
Design alternatives are currently being analyzed regarding use of traffic signals, a single roundabout, or an oblong roundabout. Construction is tentatively proposed for 2026.
