John T. Kartak grew up across the valley on a small farm and “came home” in 1996. He and his wife Jayme raised five sons in their 1885 Victorian house. They also have five grandchildren. John has been a General Contractor since 1985 and currently serves full time at City Hall.
Early 2016, John helped form CPR Snohomish -the nonprofit association that successfully campaigned for a change in the City’s plan of government to include an elected, Executive Mayor for the first time in nearly 50 years. Community leaders then asked John to run for the new position. After the election, he was sworn into office on November 29, 2017. He serves as an executive member of the Garden City Grange and as a director for the Central Neighborhood Watch association. John has a passion for cleaning up garbage and fostering relationships with our homeless and drug addicted residents.
