Applicants Sought for Snohomish Public Safety Commission

Public Safety Commission

Applicants are being sought to fill a vacancy on the City of Snohomish Public Safety Commission. The applications are due to the City Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020.

The Public Safety Commission member term runs for four years. The Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Chief of Police.  The Commission reviews law enforcement priorities, the coordination of Neighborhood Watch and related public safety matters. 

The Commission’s membership shall consist of residents of the City or owners of businesses located within the corporate City limits.  All City board and commission members are volunteers serving without compensation.

The vacancy was created by the election of Public Safety Commissioner Donna Ray to the Snohomish City Council.  The selected appointee’s term will begin immediately upon City Council confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment and will fill the balance of Ms. Ray’s term which expires April 18, 2020, at which time the appointee may request appointment to a full term. Ms. Ray has served as a Commission Member since April 2016.
