With the launch of the “Virtual Counter” by the Planning & Development Services and Engineering Departments, getting the information for your building or land use project couldn’t be easier.
Combined with the March opening of the Self-Service Permit Portal, you can complete your project from start to finish without ever having set foot in City Hall.
With a Virtual Counter appointment, you can get all the information you need and interact in real time with City staff from the comfort of your home or office. Using screen-sharing technology, Virtual Counter appointments provide interaction with the appropriate City staff from departments selected by you.
For more information or to schedule your first Virtual Counter appointment go to the Virtual Counter Appointment page.
To initiate a Virtual Counter appointment all you have to do is fill out a simple online form where you describe your project or issue, list the questions you have, tell us who you need to speak with, and what your preferred dates/times to meet are.
These appointments are intended for those wanting an interactive experience with staff, including sharing screens. A device with an internet connection, microphone, and web camera are necessary.
The Virtual Counter is intended to supplement and not replace in-person meetings. If you don’t think a Virtual Counter is for you or if you do not have the capability to do a virtual meeting, you can always telephone or email City staff directly to get the information you need or to schedule an in-person appointment.
