The City will implement a new utility billing system beginning with the bills customers receive in March and April 2019. The new system will give customers improved online services for managing utility bills.
With the new system customers will be assigned new account numbers. Information related to the new billing system will be posted to the City’s website and sent to customers in their bills providing information about setting up a NEW online account in our new system if you want to pay online but you may still mail or drop off your payment.
Customers that currently use the City’s online payment access with Paymentus will no longer be able to use that service after March 20th. Customers will be required to set up a new account online(see website below) to continue receiving certain benefits, such as recurring payments and to register to receive utility bills electronically. Paymentus will not be available as a payment option after March 20, 2019. Customers who wish to pay online via a debit or credit card will have to set up an online account at: https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/snohomishwa
Customers may still pay their bill by mailing a check or bringing a check or cash to City Hall, pay with a debit or credit card in person at City Hall, or drop their payment in the drop box located on the south side of City Hall. Paying by telephone is no longer available.
Please assure you are using the correct mailing address for the City when mailing utility payments. Any customer that uses a bank online bill pay system must update the mailing address with their own bank. All mailed payments and bank initiated online payments must be mailed to: City of Snohomish, P.O. Box 1589, Snohomish, WA 98291-1589. It will be important that customers also update and reference their NEW account number when sending payments themselves without the billing remittance stub or if they utilize the bank bill pay systems. It is important to note that recently there have been issues with the City receiving the bank bill pay checks by the due date so we recommend that a best practice would be to set up bank bill payments to arrive at least 3-5 days before the due date to assure they arrive at the City timely.
